Can’t you just feel the breeze blowing through this bucolic pastoral scene? The flowers look alive. This graceful piece will enhance any living space. Watercolor, 9” high x 12” wide.
This abstract oil is a departure from Irene’s other offerings on Arts That Work. The deep, rich colors are offset by lighter pigments to create a lovely, varied composition. Oil, 24” high by 30” wide.
A close look at this earth-toned watercolor reveals the depth in its multiple facets. Note the many and varied colors Irene has incorporated into the wood in the subject structure as well as the embellished shadowing. You can almost feel the warmth of the Caribbean sun from this view! The same soft colors are gently sewn into the cobblestone. The foreground plant is a colorful relief from the muted colors throughout the rest of the composition. All this happy activity is set against an azure sky, basking the entire picture in a delightful calm. Makes you want to take off your shoes and wriggle your toes in the sand!
Not exactly the most common view of the State capitol, but a side I like very much. The magnificent oak is serving as Mother Earth’s lungs , protecting us from harm. Let’s reciprocate the favor. Watercolor, 16.5” x 27”w.
